Burden of proof is always a topic when atheists and theists are talking or when conspiracy theories are being bandied about.
This post does a wonderful job of using a rather bizarre news story to good effect on showing how the positive claim has the burden of proof.

Possibility and probability are different things. History tells us the probability of a derelict rat infested boat is near nil. This would be the default position. Claiming that there is a rat boat is saying that the probability is 1, it is a truth claim. To say there is no rat boat is a claim against the possibility. The two are different. There is a slim possibility of a rat boat existing but the probability is very low indeed. Without evidence it is silly to believe that there is a rat boat. The short-cut for discussion then is ‘there is no rat boat’ …

speaking of keeping restrained, I have quite “unique” new follower “nadsonapprentice”, who is sure that there are Christs on all the planets and that if you say special prayers, aka spells this god will do all sorts of things.
and of course is sure that his version is the true Christianity. KD will be so disappointed. 😉

Nice. Here’s the Ontological Argument supporting the existence of a cannibal rat ship:
1. It is a conceptual truth (or, so to speak, true by definition) that The Lyubov Orlova is a cannibal rat boat than which none greater can be imagined (that is, the greatest possible cannibal rat boat that can be imagined).
2. The Lyubov Orlova exists as an idea in the mind.
3. The cannibal rat boat that exists as an idea in the mind and in reality is greater than a cannibal rat boat that exists only as an idea in the mind.
4. Thus, if The Lyubov Orlova exists only as an idea in the mind, then we can imagine a cannibal rat boat that is greater than the The Lyubov Orlova (that is, a greatest possible cannibal rat boat that does exist).
5. But we cannot imagine a cannibal rat boat that is greater than the The Lyubov Orlova.
Therefore, The Lyubov Orlova exists.
