Good to know that people in Georgia are so scared of everything, or need a replacement phallus 🙂 , that they need to have their guns on them at all times, even in church. Hmmm, if one is to believe in the Christians claim that their god protects them, then carrying a gun is nonsense (y0u know, turn the other cheek and all of that). Of course many people think that “god helps those who help themselves.” is in the bible. It’s not. In no place does it say that you are to do stuff in case this god doesn’t get around to it.
The law also has that you can get forgiveness if you take a gun in somewhere “accidently”. That means you are so oblivious in having something that can kill some one that you “forget” that you have it. So much for “responsible” gun owners.
To quote my husband “I have never been so afraid to need either a gun or a god.”
This is, of course, one of the benefits of living in a “first world” country. I’ve been in Atlanta which is quite nice, but perhaps the rest of Georgia isn’t?

Guns in church maybe is to protect the offering from thieves you know. Such things happen and god maybe busy

Clearly it is to the reader of scriptures. The Son of God is well known to have said “ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened to you.” The people here are fine examples of how well the principle works…..they neither ask nor knock. Look at the insight abounding form them…smugly dismiss the need for self-protection.

No matter the wishful thinking of the reader, it is still not there. The bible does say “ask and ye shall receive” etc. It does not say “help yourself”. It says rely entirely on this god with the claims of the lilies of the field, that this god supposedly takes care of humans better than they. Funny how this doesn’t work in reality, where people who do believe and do pray and do trust, get nothing any different than a non-Christian or a nonbeliever. We just get excuses on why this god doesn’t answer prayers and knocking and asking. We get told that this god knows better and gives us what it thinks we need. We get claims that this god has mysterious plans that disallow some positive answers. We get claims that this god just can’t get to it right now and we have to wait. All of which the bible says aren’t true because this god supposedly will answer all requests positively and quickly, that a son will not be given a snake if he asked for a fish and the mountain will immediately move as asked, not some vague time in the future.
I am always amused to see a theist who claims to believe in the bible consistently lie about others, Robin. I have asked and knocked, both as I was losing my faith and still. I have had no answer at all. I asked for this god to help me retain my faith. That didn’t happen. Now, what’s your excuse, Robin? Why hasn’t your god answered me when I was losing my faith or now? Let me guess, you’ll claim that I wouldn’t believe anyway so why should this god bother?
