Not So Polite Dinner Conversation – Trump and Sessions want a theocracy, and this is the latest way they’re trying to do it

(If you’ve come to this website following a link from a conservative Christian blog by someone named SilenceofMind, welcome!  I do invite you to read my blog and comment if you’d like Please see here for my words about how comments work on this site).  Please evaluate if SilenceOfMind’s comments about my blog are false or true from what you read.  He has claimed that my blog is an example of “virulent hatred” that is a mortal threat to Christians.  I wonder how that works when I allow his posts to exist on my blog? You may want to ask SOM about his actions and how they square with Christianity.)

From the Freedom From Religion Foundation:

Sessions’ theocratic memo on ‘religious liberty protections’ will unleash legal chaos

The Trump administration today unveiled a series of theocratic interpretations of “religious liberty protections” that will unleash legal chaos and discrimination, charges the Freedom From Religion Foundation.   The executive orders and memos largely redefine religious liberty as the right to discriminate and deny others civil rights. Earlier today, President Trump signed two executive orders under the auspices of religious liberty permitting employers to deny women workers contraceptive coverage, in a move condemned by FFRF.   Attorney General Jeff Sessions today, at Trump’s behest, has now issued a list of 20 far-reaching “Principles of Religious Liberty” that all federal agencies must implement. The goal appears to be to exempt Christians and other religionists from the rules and regulations of civil society, including rules that prevent discrimination.

Read the  entire thing here.

Now, this will require that the government now get in the business of deciding who has a valid religion to figure out how this nonsense will be applied.  Will there now be sects of Christianity that say that they can’t possibly interact with people of color?  Will there be Catholics who will refuse Protestants?  And how will people know who is what? Will we all get to wear nice little yellow stars if we are Jewish?  Perhaps a red latin cross if we are Christian?  And then how will we tell which Christian is what?  Who will get to claim the mantle of TrueChristian(tm)?

Trump and his minions are vermin out to sow hate and fear.

  1. A theocracy presupposes a state religion.

Which religion are the friend Trump and his minion Sessions installing in their theocracy?

Also birth control is so cheep that the complaint made here is ridiculous.

    1. ah, SOM is back out from under his rock. It’s wonderful fun to see you try to make more nonsense again. A theocracy does indeed require a state religion and hmmm, what religion do the vast majority of Trumpies follow, SOM? What religion does Sessions and Trump, per his own claims, follow? Oh yes, that would be conservative Christianity, be it protestant or catholic or whatever other flavor has been invented. You know, those people who have tried their hardest to have their ignorant and xenophobic version of their religion declared law.

You are a profound failure, SOM, as usual. But please do show that I’m not correct. Surely you can, right? Or is this just more nonsense with SOM trying to throw shit at a wall and hoping some of it sticks? If you are the best your god has to make its case, then you are quite a disappointment.

As for birth control, you are again as stupid and willfully ignorant as usual with your false claims of how “cheep” (really you can’t spell that? poor thing) it is. It depends on the kind of birth control and some women can’t take the pill (and some women take the pill for other reasons than birth control) and women want to control their own reproductive cycles, rather than trusting a man. IUDs are great but they are expensive and some women can’t afford them. Now, dear SOM, how do you feel about health insurance paying for a man’s erection pills, penis pumps, and such? Why doesn’t Hobby Lobby and such TrueChristians(tm) have a fit for paying for those since they want the ability to control someone’s health care choices? It’s always also great to see Hobby Lobby paying for advertising in my local Sunday paper when they insist on how pious they are and how they depend on people around the world working on Sundays to allow their business to exist.

I wonder, SOM, what other things you think that people who are theists should be able to do because of what they believe? Should they be able to murder people who work on a Sabbath (something that Christians can’t even agree on)? Should they be able to cite the “race of Ham” when they decide that they won’t allow people of a different skin color in their business? Should a protestant be able to deny services to a Catholic or a Jew? And how could such “good” people know who to hate without a required insignia on someone’s clothes to determine what that person if it isn’t as simple as looking at skin color? I also wonder, if you support a Christian Scientist saying that none of their employees can have cancer treatment or a blood transfusion if they need it within the coverage of their insurance? Is it okay with you for someone to say that a child can’t be treated for a disease because they personally believe that sickness is punishment from god as your ignorant bible says?

You are the same pitiable hateful person as usual, SOM. Nothing new here with your nonsense.

      1. Wow, SOM, nice fail again. You might have a point if such pious Christians would also have a fit about paying for Viagra, penis pumps, etc. They have no problem with that at all. Now why would that be, SOM? Why would conservative Christians just target one thing for women if your argument is indeed valid? Why should an employer pay for pregnancy care or the care of children? Indeed, why should a employer pay for insurance at all, indeed it’s not their problem if you get cancer or diabetes or measles?

Now, if we want a healthy workforce, insurance is indeed necessary or that people be paid a living wage where they can afford such things. But with a Christian like you, being kind and humane just doesn’t fit with your version of your religion does it? Or perhaps you are for universal health care and then no one has to worry about if someone else is getting health care that they don’t agree with?

        which is it, SOM?

      3. as usual you are an idiot and a true creator of strawmen when you are failing, SOM. No one said that there currently was a theocracy nor that there has been in the past. You don’t have much skill in reading comprehension do you? Poor thing, what does trying mean to you?

So again SOM, is it preposterous to have pious liars like Hobby Lobby having no problem with paying for a man’s Viagra and penis pump and not pay for a birth control pill or device for a woman? You also are too stupid to understand that some women use birth control methods for other medical reasons

Again, why should they pay for anything at all, SOM and why shouldn’t we have universal health care since everyone deserves to be healthy? Or don’t you believe that we should take care of the poor and the sick, SOM? Would you be fine with an employer saying you can’t get health insurance to take care of your cancer since they were sure that God would heal you or you deserved to die since sickness simply must mean you are a sinner and deserve it? Do you have health insurance, SOM?

of course we don’t get answers to this because it would mean SOM would have to show what he is and I don’t think he’s ready to admit even to himself what that is. He wants to be the TrueChristian(tm) but he doesn’t like what that might require.

SOM asked this question “Which religion is being established as the US state religion by fiend Trump and his eeeevil minion Jeff Sessions?” after I answered it before when he asked the same question “A theocracy presupposes a state religion. Which religion are the friend Trump and his minion Sessions installing in their theocracy?”

“ah, SOM is back out from under his rock. It’s wonderful fun to see you try to make more nonsense again. Now, I know you don’t have answers to my questions because you are one of the most ignorant and deceitful people I have had the misfortune to meet. What are these great and wonderful answers to my questions, SOM? You don’t have any because you are trying to play pretend that I haven’t answered your question as an excuse to not have to put up your own answers. So you want to know about Viagra?

        The answer is very easy.

If you had any experience with men (clearly you’ve never had any) you would know that Viagra serves as a remedy for erectile dysfunction.

Just being exposed to your hateful comments turns my usually robust, manly, muscle-hard, blood gorged ganglion into a sloppy, limp mess.

But I don’t need to take Viagra. All I need to do is stop reading your comments.

        Anyways…

Birth control does not address a medical malady since pregnancy is a natural result of humpin’ and-a-thumpin’ like little bunny rabbits.

That is the common sense answer to your stupid question about why should Viagra be covered by employer medical plans and birth control not.

        Like

      6. Yep, I know exactly what Viagra is. It makes sex fun if a fellow can’t get an erection. Now, why is it okay for a pious Christian to pay for that and not birth control for a woman? Poor thing, you just can’t answer that question, can you?

I’m sorry you have a ganglion for a penis, since a ganglion can only be seen in a microscope. Ah, that might be your issue, small man syndrome. I do feel sorry for your partner if you have a “ganglion” as a penis. IF you have a tiny limp one, then why should an employer pay for your carnal pleasure, SOM?

And if reading posts of mine, which you cannot show are “hateful” takes the starch out of your willy, you are a bit of a weakling, aren’t you?

Birth control can indeed address other medical problems and also makes sex fun if one doesn’t have to worry about getting pregnant. Some women have very painful periods and birth control pills and IUDs help that. They also can cut down on the heaviness of the uterine lining which can cause heavy bleeding and iron deficiency problems. They can also help severe acne which can lead to awful skin infections and they can lower the chance of getting endometrial (lining of the uterus) cancer, ovarian cancer, and ovarian cysts. Again, we see SOM wrong and we see him not quite the manly man he thinks he is. Tsk.

      8. SOM is terribly afraid of anyone having the ability to choose something that he doesn’t approve of. This is why he wants a theocracy. He’s also terribly afraid of women, because his religion has fooled him into believing that women are somehow less than men but reality has shown him otherwise. In order to keep his religious binkie, he has to insist that women are incapable of making decisions for themselves and suffers the cognitive dissonance from that.

Proverbs 19:9 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish.

Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who act faithfully are his delight.

You are desperate aren’t you? I can just see the fear sweat on your balding little brow.

      19. YOu have yet to provide an argument dear. Please do show why I am wrong when I point out that Trump et al are trying to do a theocracy for conservative Christians? Viagra is for carnal pleasure. You have a problem with this “carnal pleasure” if it is for a woman but not for a man. Why, SOM? We have yet to see any common sense presented by you, if you mean a well made argument support by evidence.

I’m still waiting, SOM. You may keep making false claims outright lies and excuses. All I get from it is a chuckle, my dear Christian with a penis the size of a ganglion. And my husband gets quite a laugh out of your “ganglion” too. 🙂 Guess you don’t need much of an athletic cup.

      20. Club,

If you bother to read my comments you will find very simple, easy to understand arguments.

Thank you for allowing me to comment.

Yet I must say that the virulent hatred you express always surprises.

      21. You again are lying, SOM, but that is what I expect from a TrueChristian(tm). Please do show where I show “virulent hatred”. You see, SOM, if you cannot, you show that you ignore your very own bible, which says that bearing false witness against another is a sin, and punishable by hell. Since you do it repeatedly, it seems you expect your god to be a vending machine and that it must constantly grant you forgiveness for premeditated crimes. The bible says that lies told “for” this god of yours are also evil and a sin, Romans 3. I’m more than happy for you to comment and show how horrible Christianity and Christians can be. You are quite an example of a anti-Christ.

I have repeatedly asked you for evidence for your claims and you have yet to supply it. How unsurprising. Please do show where these “easy to understand arguments” are in your posts. It would take only a cut and paste for you to show me wrong, SOM, but yet you don’t take advantage of that. Why is this, SOM?

  2. “Please do show where I show “virulent hatred”.

Your posts are dripping with condescension and contempt.
Illustrated by ad nauseum repetition of ironic use of words like “dear” and “poor thing”. You’ve also called the person you are ostensibly having a conversation with a wacko and a liar (several times).
That’s just skimming…I couldn’t really stomach the read.
What’s the point in welcoming people and inviting them to read a virulent and insulting rant? I guess that’s all just part of the irony of being a person who enjoys schadenfreude humor.

    1. Yep, I am condescending and comptemptuous, guilty as charged. This has nothing to do with “virulent hatred”. You may want to look up those words and then come back and try again to show where I’ve evinced any of that. Christians often tend to hyperbole when someone dares to point out that they are wrong and certainly not the paragons of morality and virtue that they always claim to be.

I am condescending to, and contemptuous of, people who try to lie to me and about me, as if they had some right to try to remove my ability to make a informed decision. When they lie and then can’t support their false claims, they are indeed “poor things” that have shown themselves to be ignorant, arrogant and definitely not the Christians I grew up with. I have no problem calling people liars when they are indeed liars. For all of your indignation, it seems you didn’t read far enough to watch the TrueChristians(tm) who visit my blog lie repeatedly, and by doing so, show their own contempt for their very own bible which says that no lies are acceptable at all.

So, froggy, what do you do when someone lies to you? If it is bad to call someone a “whacko” then please do address this with your fellow TrueChristian(tm) silenceofmind, who called people he didn’t like whackos before I pointed out that he was one of these wackos who tried their hardest to lie to others. YOu also evidently have no idea what the term “irony” means. I enjoy watching people suffer from the harm they cause themselves by their own actions, like the TrueChristian(Tm) liars I occasionally host on my blog comments. They lie, and then when I ask them to show evidence for their lies, they run away like the cowards they are. So much for their claims of having an omniscient and omnipotent friend that supports them in all that they do for it.

It is no surprise that SOM still can’t support his lies about me and to me. Do keep huddling with SOM and Tom. It’s great fun to watch you continue the lies and still be unable to address my points. They still exist no matter how hard you pray and try to ignore them. You do a great job of showing how conservative Christianity depends on willful ignorance, fear and deceit. It’s no surprise that evangelical Christianty is losing ground. Who wants to hang around with people who lie and lie about such petty things when those things can be seen for what they are with a quick internet search.
