Not So Polite Dinner Conversation – critical thinking fails

(addendum 7/2/23 – Paul has deleted his blog and has ceased emailing me. It’s nothing new for a theist to do this when they find their god isn’t supporting their nonsense).

Found on a Christian blog:

The lack of your god doesn’t mean we don’t have morals. And of course, this post will not see the light of day since Paul is a typical christian coward, unwilling to be shown wrong.

Alas, for the christian, no one needs his god to have morals, and yep, morals are subjective and happily can change. No one is left with th eignorance from humans several thousand years ago.

So, yep, we can declare that the nazis were wrong, since we have empathy and self-interest. Curious that this god didn’t think the nazis were wrong either since it did nothing.

love is better than rape. And again, curious that this god has no problem with rape. This god also shows no love. A threat of “love me or else” isn’t love.

We can also declare that terrorism is wrong, and surprise, it seems that terrorists come from religions most often. Crusades also fall under this.

Tolerance can be good. it also can be bad if one tolerates unfairness. As usual, the theist fails.

There are human rights. Funny how the bible doesn’t mention any. In it there are only theist rights.

I find it hilarious that you think it’s impressive to claim that atheists wouldn’t exist if your god doesn’t.

  1. I, for one, like that poster not for its wrongness but for the lack of imagination of the author.
If god exists, rape is ok if you marry the victim, murder is ok if the victim dies after 2 or so days, and genocide is ok among other ok things.

  2. First of all, the Nazi’s were NOT atheists, at least not all of them (I’m sure there were some mixed in). If you do just a modicum of research you will find out that the Catholic Church – both in Rome AND in Germany – held special masses for Hitler on EVERY birthday until the war ended, and in some others cases as well. Furthermore, you COULD (should they have even the slightest curiosity about TRUTH, which they do NOT) they would find out that Goebbels was excommunicated from the Church, (wanna know why?) For marrying a Methodist! Not for slaughtering MILLIONS of Europeans; Jews, Poles, Gypsies, etc. So, as Christopher Hitchens would say: “At least they had the priorities straight”!

You can discount almost ANYTHING these morons say; they make up 98% of what they spew (mostly about their own faith) and the other 2% they get from the bible which means it’s specious at best! As far as morality is concerned, if you need the bible to tell you that it’s wrong to murder your neighbor, or rape their daughter, or steal their goods, then you are an idiot, can not think or reason for yourself and therefore should be excluded from voting and reproduction, period, end of story. I’ve slammed this door down on more believers than I can remember.

  3. I can only say what has already been said.

So, I will add that I am willing to accept the existence of his God when he proves such existence. In fact, that goes for the five-thousand or so other Gods people have believed in since the beginning of whenever.

    1. There’s only way to prove to people like you that God exists and well, God forbids that action, so I won’t go there. You’ll know the truth one day, and by that time, it’ll be too late.

      1. Yep, Paul give excuses constantly. What is that “action” Paul? What does this supposed god forbid?

I do love how christians just make up nonsense constantly. Of course, Paul just has impotent threats as usual.

      2. Your threat has been noted. Yes, *your* threat, because it was you personally and not an actual god uttering it.

If a hell-creating god actually exists, Paul, you’re no safer than the non-believers and different-believers. Any being that would create such a place is insane and not to be trusted.

      3. Then have fun with plan B! Actually it was Jesus’ threat, as you call it. “But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear him!” Luke 12.

Go ahead and thumb your nose in the face of God and refuse to bow in submission. Like any of your efforts are going to matter on Judgment Day? It’s plain idiocy to me to hear you all talk! Like you have a choice? Like you can walk through a different door if you don’t like God’s rules? The level of arrogance in atheists is shocking.

      4. As my friend Astreja noted, it is your threat. It’s always great fun to see the christian be too cowardly to take responsiblity for what he hopes will happen to others. Paul, you are a great example of how christians claim they are only “just following orders”, a common claim by cowards who didn’t want to take responsibilty for what they did during the Nuremberg trials.

Happily, no one needs to fear your imaginary friend or you. There is no such thing as “judgement day”, it being just the sadistic fantasies of cultists like yourself.

Every cultist says what you do, Paul. Every muslim, christian, hindu, etc all must claim that those who dont’ believe their baseless nonsense are wrong. Happily, we have a choice to ignore your made up nonsense and point out how it fails, no matter what little tantrum you want to take.

again, no god, Paul, so your impotent threats fail to impress. We’d have to believe your nonsense for them to have any effect. We don’t.

      5. So you don’t know either? Okay.
You seem to be saying that one only knows after one dies. Not much of an argument.
Dead means dead. No brain activity. No knowledge or information. No “oops” for either of us.

      6. it seems that poor Paul has run away and has killed his own blog:

        “livingwaters499746578.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.”

      1. Fear is only healthy when there’s something that we need to be afraid of – a car that just came screeching around the corner; loud, angry voices arguing in the back alley at 3 in the morning.

“Mythological Middle Eastern Deity with an anger management problem and a torture fetish” doesn’t qualify. Sorry.

You present as the kind of abusive asshole who would deliberately terrorize small children with stories of hell so that you could parade them at next Sunday’s altar call.

  4. It’s funny how x-ians show us their proud inability to use basic logic, then want to beat us over the head with it. Laughably fucking stupid.

    I can play too.

    If x-ianity was true:

Then why are there still butterflies?

Your children are perfectly safe with us!

Why did the big monkey take the little monkey’s Ray Comfort banana?

    Why do atheists still exist?

They would have won the war on x-mas by now.

I could go on, but playing stupid bores me after a few minutes… I can’t believe these people actually believe their ludicrous misconceptions.

    1. yep, it does get boring.

This is the latest from poor Paul.

“You already wrote me on email.
You are worrying me Vel (I’ll call you Vel from now on as Andrea tends to be a name you don’t like). You’re talking about someone who (at least according to you) doesn’t exist. Wouldn’t that come under the insane category? It’s the very thing you all accuse us Christians of. Talking to God. We know He exists so it makes sense to talk to Him, but you are sure He doesn’t exist yet you refer to Him all the time.
Interesting…me thinks you protest too much!”

and my response, which I’m sure he’ll not allow to show since it shows him a failure.

“and yep, Paul still fails. It’s great to see your attempt to be impressive siwth using my real name has failed too.

It’s a common christian tactic to try to claim that I shouldn’t talk about his god if i don’t believe in it. Hmm, how would that work with you, Paul, when you must talk about other gods when you claim you don’t believe in them and that they are wrong? Are you insane too?

I talk about your god and your very silly cult since I need to in order to show how it fails, Paul. It’s sweet how desperately you try to gaslight me.

Hmm, since you claim that Islam is false, and other versions of christniaty are false, it seems you “protest too much” and really believe in those things, per your own argument.

Now, I guess that you’ll either lie and alter this post or not allow it to show at all since it shows how you fail, yet again. “

  5. and what is apparently not mentioned, most wars of any size are often Holy Wars, with religious overtones silent but obvious, and since most countries and societies espouse a religion of some sort, if they go so goes their belief system.
