Not So Polite Dinner Conversation – another bit of nonsense that caught my attention, the confusion of what happened to Judas.

Christians do love their apologetics, e.g. excuses offered to try to make their ignorant set of books make sense. They always fail.

Here we have the attempt to try to make the two contradictory stories of what befell Judas after the “betrayal”. This is from Hill Faith, Christians who try to convert people in the US government, by lying to them. Mark Tapscott is quite the failure.

““The differences in these two accounts are easily (and rationally) explained when we consider that Matthew and Luke were referring to two different times. Matthew recorded the initial hanging of Judas, while Luke recorded what happened sometime later (probably several days later.

“Soon after Judas took his life, his body would hae begun the decomposing process. If a dead body is left to itself (with no attempt to preserve it e.g. embalming), bacteria soon begin to break down various bodily tissues. As a result, gases are released within the body, which in turn cause it to swell.”

Lyons then notes an incident in Taiwan several years ago in which a dead whale that had washed up on the shore was being trucked through a Taiwanese city to a research center suddenly exploded. The gases produced by decomposition reached a certain point and people all around the whale were soaked with blood and guts in the ensuing explosion.

That’s what happened to Judas’ body. Matthew and Acts are complimentary, not contradictory, because together they tell us how Judas killed himself, by hanging, and that his body was left hanging for long enough that either the rope snapped or the body  slipped from the noose and fell a distance to the ground where it burst open on impact”

and yet more lies from christians. it’s hilarious the nonsense they must invent to try to cover up the failure of their many contradictory books. it’s no surprise that these liars at Hill Faith don’t actually quote the entire pertinent sections to hide their lies:

3 When Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus[a] was condemned, he repented and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders. 4 He said, ‘I have sinned by betraying innocent[b] blood.’ But they said, ‘What is that to us? See to it yourself.’ 5 Throwing down the pieces of silver in the temple, he departed; and he went and hanged himself. 6 But the chief priests, taking the pieces of silver, said, ‘It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since they are blood money.’ 7 After conferring together, they used them to buy the potter’s field as a place to bury foreigners. 8 For this reason that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day. 9 Then was fulfilled what had been spoken through the prophet Jeremiah, ‘And they took[d] the thirty pieces of silver, the price of the one on whom a price had been set, on whom some of the people of Israel had set a price, 10 and they gave[f] them for the potter’s field, as the Lord commanded me.’” Matthew 27

so we have Judas returning the money and hanging himself. The priests then buy a field. This is claimed to somehow fulfill a prophecy that isn’t a prophecy at all, and the writers can’t agree which book it comes from, Jeremiah, Zechariah or Isaiah.

“6 Jeremiah said, The word of the Lord came to me: 7 Hanamel son of your uncle Shallum is going to come to you and say, ‘Buy my field that is at Anathoth, for the right of redemption by purchase is yours.’ 8 Then my cousin Hanamel came to me in the court of the guard, in accordance with the word of the Lord, and said to me, ‘Buy my field that is at Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, for the right of possession and redemption is yours; buy it for yourself.’ Then I knew that this was the word of the Lord.

9 And I bought the field at Anathoth from my cousin Hanamel, and weighed out the money to him, seventeen shekels of silver. 10 I signed the deed, sealed it, got witnesses, and weighed the money on scales. 11 Then I took the sealed deed of purchase, containing the terms and conditions, and the open copy; 12 and I gave the deed of purchase to Baruch son of Neriah son of Mahseiah, in the presence of my cousin Hanamel, in the presence of the witnesses who signed the deed of purchase, and in the presence of all the Judeans who were sitting in the court of the guard. 13 In their presence I charged Baruch, saying, 14 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Take these deeds, both this sealed deed of purchase and this open deed, and put them in an earthenware jar, in order that they may last for a long time. 15 For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards shall again be bought in this land.” Jeremiah 32

and this doesn’t work either:

“7 So, on behalf of the sheep dealers, I became the shepherd of the flock doomed to slaughter. I took two staffs; one I named Favour, the other I named Unity, and I tended the sheep. 8 In one month I disposed of the three shepherds, for I had become impatient with them, and they also detested me. 9 So I said, ‘I will not be your shepherd. What is to die, let it die; what is to be destroyed, let it be destroyed; and let those that are left devour the flesh of one another!’ 10 I took my staff Favour and broke it, annulling the covenant that I had made with all the peoples. 11 So it was annulled on that day, and the sheep dealers, who were watching me, knew that it was the word of the Lord. 12 I then said to them, ‘If it seems right to you, give me my wages; but if not, keep them.’ So they weighed out as my wages thirty shekels of silver. 13 Then the Lord said to me, ‘Throw it into the treasury’[a]—this lordly price at which I was valued by them. So I took the thirty shekels of silver and threw them into the treasury[b] in the house of the Lord” Zechariah

which doesn’t work either.

Acts then has

“15 In those days Peter stood up among the believers[d] (together the crowd numbered about one hundred and twenty people) and said, 16 ‘Friends,[e] the scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit through David foretold concerning Judas, who became a guide for those who arrested Jesus— 17 for he was numbered among us and was allotted his share in this ministry.’ 18 (Now this man acquired a field with the reward of his wickedness; and falling headlong,[f] he burst open in the middle and all his bowels gushed out. 19 This became known to all the residents of Jerusalem, so that the field was called in their language Hakeldama, that is, Field of Blood.) 20 ‘For it is written in the book of Psalms,

“Let his homestead become desolate,
and let there be no one to live in it”;

and

“Let another take his position of overseer.”

Where Judas kept the money, and bought the field, directly contradicting the nonsense these liars have given. It also makes no sense since falling headlong seems to indicate one is somehow in the field, and fell in the field, not rotted off a tree. headlong 2
: lacking in calmness or restraint : PRECIPITATE a headlong torrent of emotion 3: plunging headfirst Merriam webster.

Curious how Psalms has nothing like those verses and nothing else is attributed to David in this silly bible. This is as close as it gets:

Psalm 69: 21They gave me poison for food,  and for my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.22 Let their table be a trap for them,
a snare for their allies.23 Let their eyes be darkened so that they cannot see,  and make their loins tremble continually.24 Pour out your indignation upon them,    and let your burning anger overtake them.25 May their camp be a desolation;    let no one live in their tents.26 For they persecute those whom you have struck down,
and those whom you have wounded, they attack still more.”

Curious how judas had no camp, or tents. Indeed, didn’t these apostles give up eveyrthing for jesus?

Psalm 109 – “They say,[b] ‘Appoint a wicked man against him; let an accuser stand on his right. When he is tried, let him be found guilty; let his prayer be counted as sin.May his days be few; may another seize his position.May his children be orphans, and his wife a widow.
10 May his children wander about and beg; may they be driven out of[c] the ruins they inhabit.11 May the creditor seize all that he has;    may strangers plunder the fruits of his toil.12 May there be no one to do him a kindness,  nor anyone to pity his orphaned children.13 May his posterity be cut off; may his name be blotted out in the second generation.14 May the iniquity of his father[d] be remembered before the Lord, and do not let the sin of his mother be blotted out.15 Let them be before the Lord continually,   and may his[e] memory be cut off from the earth. For he did not remember to show kindness,   but pursued the poor and needy
and the broken-hearted to their death.17 He loved to curse; let curses come on him.    He did not like blessing; may it be far from him.18 He clothed himself with cursing as his coat,    may it soak into his body like water,    like oil into his bones.19 May it be like a garment that he wraps around himself,    like a belt that he wears every day.’”

Curious how Judas is remembered, unlike what this nonsense says, and no family mentioned anywhere.

Again, this cult depends on ignorance, deceit and fear.
