Poor Ayaan Hirsi Ali, former muslim, former atheist and now christian. She’s just one more frightened human being who gloms onto a lie to convince herself she’s safe.
It’s hilarious that she tries to lie and claim that christanity isn’t dogmatic. It is just as bad as it ever was or that Islam has been. I wonder which version of the cult of christainity she’s joined, there are so very many, all of which hate the others.
She’s a failure who has entered a cult. Nothing more. Atheists can be stupid too and join cults. That doesn’t mean the cult’s lies are true. If she can’t make a meaning for herself, no imaginary god will do it for her. Her imaginary god won’t protect her from China or Russia. She simply is one more person who hates those who are different than her, with her whining about “woke”.
Atheism isn’t a worldview, so it doesn’t defend against foes, dear Ayaan. You are an atheist still, just accepting one more god than me. Democracy is a worldview and it can help us. Your need for a hateful, genocidal lunatic, who kills people for things they didn’t do and who approves of slavery to the point of telling slaves to never seek their freedom won’t help anything.

Wow! I hadn’t seen this. I read her book. I disagree with her latest sentiments obviously. She is wrong of course, we can defend democracy simply because it is the right thing to do. We don’t need a spiritual being to tell us to do it. There appears to be an innate need in many to be believe in deity of some sort. I find it sad and appalling that humanity cannot seem to come to the conclusions of morally ethical behavior without being told to do so by something they cannot even verify. It’s like critical thinking is just too complicated and too much work for the masses. angry face

indeed. it seems like most of it is “I’m a chrsitain because thinking for myself is hard.”

I don’t know this lady but I guess some people are atheist simply due to the upbringing, and it’s not an informed view based on rational thinking. Otherwise I can’t imagine she would have transitioned to Christianity (or any other religion for the matter).

she was a Muslim, then was an atheist, and now seems terrified of anyone not like her so ended up being pretty much a conservative christian.

In most (if not all) cases that I know of, they not only were never atheists, they never made that claim until after they found a reason to see the proverbial light. 🙂

yep, in most cases that “reason” was that filthy lucre.
