Not So Polite Dinner Conversation – “Mistakes” about which day to vote

Recently, there’s been a rash of the wrong information being put on voter documents that tell people when to vote.   The date “mistakenly” put on would *always* make people too late to vote.

Why is there never a time where the wrong date is days ahead of the actually voting day? 

If these mistakes are made by sheer chance, there should be just as many.  But, as far as I know, there are not.
