nice. what kind of rose bush? I have a white climber, a red Don Juan climber, a simple red rose, a red and white one, and a pink/orange Christopher Marlowe rose.
I planted a dark pink variety called “Winnipeg Parks” (very appropriate, as I live in Winnipeg). Two blooms so far, and I see two more buds on the way.
My garden project last year was clearing the ground where I wanted to plant the rose bush. The spot was once a back driveway and has had assorted things like sand and gravel dumped on it over the years, and underneath that it looks like it used to be part of a river or creek. Let’s just say I took a lot of rocks and broken concrete to a local recycling depot – I excavated the spot about 18″ deep and 3-4 feet square, and filled it with good soil.

Oo! Lots of great flowers there.
My garden’s coming along, bit by bit. A lot less weedy than last year, and a new rosebush.

looked it up and it’s a very nice rose. Sounds like a lot of work but for a great result.
