I’m having surgery in a week for screwey thyroid and parathyroid glands. Nervous but it should help with various symptoms, etc.

I’d never heard of Smith’s wager, but damn, it’s good! I actually fell for Pascal’s wager when I was more idiotic. So glad I woke up!
And yep, we all die, and death is the end, and that is a very peace giving thought to keep in mind. After all the joys and sorrows, ups and downs, and general chaos of life, there is a quiet end to it all. Whoo. Good.

my dad used to have awful back pain, thanks to a fall through a barn roof onto a cow when he was young. he got some kind of injection that made quite a difference. Wish I could offer a cure.

I’ve had parathyroid surgery, for mine they pumped me full of water but didn’t tell me, and it was what you might call a difficult ride home in a blizzard… =)
