Not So Polite Dinner Conversation – Poor SOM

it’s notable how he himself has no idea what evolutionary theory says. He thinks it has a “beginning, middle and end”. Hmm, theories don’t have acts like literature.

It’s also notable how molecular biology isn’t taught in high schools. Anything “elementary” would be just biology or chemistry. Both of which show that evolutionary theory is accurate. Even if you get into molecular biology, nothing shows that evolutionary theory is wrong. Here’s evidence right from that molecular biology that shows that creationists are liars>

And it’s always great fun to see SOM whine about logic, something he fails in regularly. Now, what does formal logic have to to with evolutionary theory? He can’t explain.

The nature of Homo Sapiens is that we are a primate. We share many of the same emotions that other primates do, having group rules, and investigating our environment. Still no evidence for SOM’s imaginary friend.

Alas for SOM, nothing leads to his imaginary friend that doesn’t also lead to someone else’s imaginary friend. BTW, Socrates didn’t believe in SOM’s imaginary friend.

Still no god.

There are three problems with Darwin’s Theory of Evolution:

  1. The Beginning
  2. The Middle
  3. The End

Please explain.

Your grade depends on your ability to explain:

1. Elementary knowledge of molecular biology taught to high school freshmen.

2. Understanding of formal logic thought to freshman high school students.

3. Understanding of the nature of Homo Sapiens.

P. S. Socratic seminars are open ended discussions. Ask questions about what is unclear to you. Allow your questions to lead you to the truth of the matter.

  1. I have often wondered, even going back to my days as a practicing Catholic. I was never taught to take the bible literally (but yes, the Roman Catholic Church takes many things very literally).

Why couldn’t a God/Creator use something like evolution? Why couldn’t said deity use a big bang of some sort? I just don’t see why it gets their panties into such a wadded-up chocolate mess, unless they like have their panties in a wad. 🙂

    1. chocolate? erp.

yep, it baffles me why some hold so tightly to the young earth creationism nonsense. the only reason I can think of is if this god can’t do it in 6 days, the whole resurrection garbage fails quite quickly.

  2. Evolution itself, the idea of organisms mutating and changing in order to accommodate changes or threats in the environment in order to further survival and success of the species is NOT a “theory”. Evolution has been proven and can be seen over & over again in microorganisms adapting to various antibiotics, etc. The “theory” comes when explaining HOW the evolutionary processes are activated or instigated. That is the mystery of evolution not the fact that organisms evolve, that is a proven fact.

However, when you believe in the “invisible man the sky” and you’re looking for ways to firm up your superstitions and myths, you gotta dig hard and far to come up with a way to keep your idols relevant and that is often at the expense of science, reason and rational thought.
