What the Boss Likes – or not

Life has been a struggle lately. New job, same old anxiety and the added nonsense of watching the US teeter on the edge of the abyss. I was able to step away from my office job, thanks to my wonderful husband, and have taken a part time job where I can focus on one thing at a time. Weirdly, that job is giving out samples at a warehouse club and I find it calming in a strange way.

not sure if these exist outside the US, where a huge building requires a membership to enter and is a bizarre temple to capitalism, where you can buy massive amounts of things. Watching people there is quite an experience, and one can see just how greedy people are when it comes to free stuff. My misanthropic self is bemused.

Our little outside cat, Ember, is doing well. She had kittens. Sadly, one didn’t make it which didn’t help things. However, we do have a little orange puffball we call Deci, short for Decibel since he/she was very loud very early. We got them a heated home to keep them warm and safe since this is so late to have a kitten. Happily, it’s been exceptionally warm for this time of year.

that’s it for now. Some memes for your amusement below.

  1. Oh, life can suck a lot. Husband’s brain cancer came back, and I’m disabled and unable to pick up the slack as much as I want to.

Anyway, hope you are doing better. I don’t have to work, which is good, as I can’t work consistently. So we live in retirement on SS, Medicare, and Bob’s pensions.

Here’s hoping you find things are quieter in the cold months, maybe it will be unusually seasonally warm and we get to enjoy it? I always hope people’s life journeys are doable…so often, they are so hard.

    1. I am so sorry to hear that, BJ. Ah, if there really were gods to beseech and get to change things. if I can help, let me know.

Cancer is pretty much non existent in my family, weirdly enough. Thought my husband may be at risk, but he found out that his dad isn’t his dad thanks to a DNA test (thanks ancestry dot com), so hopefully he isn’t at risk as much as his half-brothers. Seems like that crazy el nino may make it a warm and wet winter for us on the US east coast.

      1. We are in Ohio and don’t know if we get that warmer fall. But it’s been okay for now!

We are limping along. Of course, we could use any random amount of money, if I could work part-time for a couple years I would. But I don’t have the strength right now. We do support each other. I got testy and upset yesterday, probably due to taking one of my meds too soon.

Usually we have each other and humor, that works well. I like all you people ❤ I talk to online. Even moral support is good support!
