Not So Polite Dinner Conversation – the cowards of January 6

“A 37-year-old Pa. man awaiting up to a 20-year prison sentence for his role in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol has taken his own life, instead.

KDKA-TV in Pittsburgh reports the obituary for Matthew Perna of Mercer County quotes his family as saying he died last week of a “broken heart” and “the justice system killed his spirit and his zest for life.”” Pennlive.com

Poor thing, he tried to attack the government, got people killed, was held accountable and couldn’t accept that he failed. Even his obituary ended up with lies to cover up his failure.

“He attended the rally on January 6, 2021 to peacefully stand up for his beliefs. After learning that the FBI was looking for him, he immediately turned himself in. He entered the Capitol through a previously opened door (he did not break in as was reported) where he was ushered in by police. He didn’t break, touch, or steal anything. He did not harm anyone, as he stayed within the velvet ropes taking pictures. For this act he has been persecuted by many members of his community, friends, relatives, and people who had never met him. Many people were quietly supportive, and Matt was truly grateful for them. The constant delays in hearings, and postponements dragged out for over a year. Because of this, Matt’s heart broke and his spirit died, and many people are responsible for the pain he endured. Matt did not have a hateful bone in his body. He embraced people of all races, income brackets, and beliefs, never once berating anyone for having different views.”

quite the set of false claims there. There was no “ushering in by police”. If everyone recalls, the police were trying to keep these idiots out.

The video is very disturbing and shows someone in desperate pain.

and oh my. “Matt’s family stood by him during this devastating ordeal, and are extremely proud of his passion for life and his pursuit of many dreams. His actions last year are not looked down upon, instead his family is grateful and humbled by his courage. They say God never gives anyone more than they can handle. That statement is not Biblical, nor is it true. Rest Easy Matt, you are finally FREE!”

Suicide not the action of someone who was given something they can handle. And actually the bible does say that this god won’t give you moer than you can handle.

13 No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.” 1 corinthians 10

” Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phillipians 4

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.” Psalms 34

He killed his own spirit and zest for life by believing an idiot like Trump and the QAnon liars. No one else is responsible.

  1. He was tricked into committing treason by a dishonest coward, who told him that he’d stand behind him. But who did no such thing. Perna charged into the fray believing that he was a Big Damn Hero, but then turned out to be just a patsy for an egomaniac and his lackeys. So he was faced with a choice: Continue to stand up for the Dear Leader who got him into all this trouble and then left him to take the punishment. Or admit to himself that he’d been a damn fool, that the “libtards” had actually been right all along, and face permanent rejection from the rest of his gullible tribe. I think he killed himself because he couldn’t live with either of those choices.

  2. Matthew’s suffering is over. His family’s suffering will continue.. Stupid views and stupid actions aren’t a one-off – the consequences can last for generations.

    1. it’s awful, and from the obit, his family has no more clue than he did. The one thing in his obit was that he took care of animals, including a kitty, something I adore in anyone. I think the kitty must have passed on but his stupidity would have left her alone too.

  3. Amazing at the way people can rationalize anything.

I have little sympathy for this guy, or his deluded family. Except for the fact it was suicide. I myself am a suicide survivor, I know how difficult that is to deal with.

That said, anyone who thinks Jan 6 was a peaceful walk through the Capitol, is a friggin idiot.
