The current brick wall I’m beating my head against is trying to start veggies, herbs, etc from seeds.
I have a nifty little hydroponic set up that I got from eBay, and I have had success in growing a butter leaf type lettuce in that.
I’ve also had some issues with it. Ahem….

The attempt I’ve tried with a separate grow light and a warming mat hasn’t worked out so well. So I got myself a little greenhouse, and am trying that out in the garden.

We’ll see if I get anywhere with that. I’m intent on building an herb garden with some unusual ones, like rue, tansy, gentian, etc.
On the bright side, you seem to have a good crop of cats this year! ๐
I’m using an old 20 gallon fish tank for a starter greenhouse. It’s in a cabinet with a flip-up lid, and a grow light is attached to the underside of the lid, and there’s also a sheet of glass on top of the aquarium to control the humidity. Problem is that we have just one of these setups, and more seeds that need to be started, and it’s still too cold to set something up on the front porch.

yep, the cats are indeed in full bloom.

And if that doesnโt work, Rue, Tansy and Gentian seem like fine names for a new crop of kitties!

Hey, Julie! yep. ๐ Of course, now we have 13. So, I think I need to hold off on any more. ๐

Have you got any catnip going? I try and always have a few plants up and running. Our cats are drug fiends!

I actually have a catnip patch in the garden. It’s coming up again now, and I harvest it in the fall for the beasties. This is how I also got a couple of these cats since they were ferals and were visiting it. ๐
I make “kick sticks” with it, catnip, pipe insulation and fabric, so they can grab the toy with their front feet and kick the heck out of them with their back.

The cats love them. Alas, I was not the clever person to think it up.
