Not So Polite Dinner Conversation – a poem

I haven’t written a poem since oh, probably 7th grade. I found one by a christian, the usual claiming anyone but him is fool and decided to set my hand at a response. Not perfect but it amuses me. (memes and cool images below)

The fool says within his heart,

No god but mine, a hard rampart

Their ignorance willful, no good they do,

One among many, not just a few.

A steeple and a lightning rod,

Shows that their imaginary god

Has nothing, not a single fact

To show that oh, indeed it acts.

Not one can claim a truthier truth

Since not one can show or sleuth

That their version of their cult is best,

That their laws are hidden within the breast.

Christians fail, their claims astray

Each one sure that one should pray

Only as they, a common claim

When not one prayer hits where they aim.

No justice found within their book

Just lies and ignorance I’ve long forsook

Morals ne’er given at all

And just the same, there was no fall.

Cultists feed on the oppressed,

Hate and ignorance only professed

They make excuses, one and all

Jesus fails? Let’s ask Paul!

Happily,  fantasies fail

Never one in hellish jail.

Hope exists, we carry it

Their god does nothing,  not one whit.
