While in bed waiting for the alarm to go off this morning, it occured to me that the idea of free will offered by theists and their claim that their god has some “right” to kill people doesn’t work. If people are given free will, they are no longer this god’s property, and thus this god has no right at all to kill someone. It’s no more than murder.
Christians often claim that the artist has the right to destroy their own works, but that doesn’t work if the work is given to someone else.

I’m really champing at the bit for spring. Seed catalogs shouldn’t be allowed. This weekend I want to start getting ready for doing seedlings. I’ve mostly given up on trying to grow vegetables and am concentrating on flowers.
I’ve also been concentrating on making our home exactly what we want, since there’s not much reason to go on any vacation since the world seems to be losing its mind. Much painting going on. Here you can see how I’ve been redoing our bedroom in a vaguely retro science fiction, art deco-ish look. Still a work in progress.

heh. Yep. I personally find the “no free will, but we have a good illusion of it” to be the best answer to the problem.
